Wayside markers at Heart Mountain say that an unnamed Boy Scout drowns in the irrigation canals in the early days of the camp. The tragedy prompts the administration to build a swimming pool.
Heart Mountain is in Wyoming whose original inhabitants include the Arapaho Tribe, Cheyenne Tribe, Crow Tribe, Shoshoni Tribe and Ute Tribe. Today, Wyoming's two federally recognized tribes: the Arapaho and Shoshoni Tribes share the Wind River Reservation.
