The Tuna Canyon Detention Station held Issei men from Southern California, detained by the FBI after Pearl Harbor was bombed, and before they were transferred to various other camps. The Tuna Canyon Detention Station also held German and Italian men and Japanese Peruvians.

After the camp was shuttered, the land became the Verdugo Hills Golf Course.

Los Angeles County sits on Chumash, Tongva, and Kizh land.
