The Tertium Quid* Project uses language, official documents, and quotidian media to investigates the politics and poetics of mixed-race identity.
When is race and ethnicity a visible and aesthetic thing? How are people of mixed race Orientalized and made exotic? What does it mean to identify as neither "one," nor the "other"?
And when that is the case, to whom, and to what homeland does one connect?
These are some of the questions that drive this investigation
*Tertium Quid (Latin, "some third thing")
